Professional Science Masters in Scientific Writing

The Professional Science Masters in Scientific Writing (PSM in Scientific Writing) is a two-year degree program hosted in the College of Science and Technology at Temple University. The program is designed to give students hands on training to enable them to develop expertise in writing related to the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students in the program work directly with faculty from the Temple College of Science and Technology and from the School of Media and Communications to obtain the skills necessary to meet the growing demand for individuals who are able to clearly and effectively communicate scientific information to a wide range of audiences. In addition to classroom based training, students in the program will complete a field-work based internship in an approved setting such as with a practicing scientist, a publishing company, a patent law office, pharmaceutical company, or other relevant location.


ACCELERATED PSM IN SCIENTIFIC WRITING PROGRAM 4+1 UNDERGRADUATE/GRADUATE

Eligible CST undergraduate students pursuing their BA or BS degree, can use up to 12 specified graduate credits approved by the school/college to fulfill requirements for their undergraduate degree. Upon graduation from their undergraduate program, students move seamlessly into their graduate program, which they complete, in most cases, in one additional year. As the amount of available research funding has decreased, the need for individuals who can write convincingly and eloquently about data has accordingly intensified.
